Avoriaz, La France
Designed in keeping with Avoriaz’s unusual architectural style, this new hotel has breathtaking views of the village and its snow-capped peaks.
The MiL8 hotel, whose name refers to the resort’s altitude (1800 m), has been designed in keeping with Avoriaz tradition by Morzine architect Hervé Marullaz and blends in perfectly with its surroundings.
The materials and geometrical forms heed the codes which make snow a key element in the village's unique architecture so that man-made structures merge with the snowy slopes around them. As if the hotel were a new mountain peak in the resort.
Whether for a stay with a partner, family or friends, we're confident you will appreciate MiL8’s stylish and understated décor, which marries raw materials in their natural state with comfortable, cosy furnishings set off throughout by the omnipresent natural daylight.
From the lounge area with its fireplace through to the hotel bar, to the restaurant and its sunny terrace, MiL8 nurtures the art of mountain living.
Our hotel has breathtaking views of the resort of Avoriaz and the snow-capped peaks, a harmonious blend of wood and shimmering fabrics, exclusive ultra-modern furniture and furnishings, high-end bedding...
MiL8's 42 rooms and suites entice guests to let go and relax.
All our rooms have balconies to prolong moments of relaxation in the sun. You will also enjoy free services such as Wi-Fi, access to the wellness area (sauna, swimming pool, cardio-training room), private ski locker and cot (on request).
Pets are also allowed in our Hotel.
Stayed here for a week and enjoyed it greatly. All staff very friendly and helpful. Excellent location and wonderful infinity pool - breathtaking views from there. Rooms very comfortable and clean with super bed. Considering the Hotel has only been open a few months everything ran well. Only down side is very pricey bar drinks but then that is not so unusual in Avoriaz. Happy hour might encourage more customers!! Also happy to get home to watch Scotland beat France at Rugby!
Excellent location, friendly staff, great stay! Stayed 4 nights in early March and had great time. This is ideally located for ski in/out and short walk to restaurants and shops. Staff are all very friendly and helpful, nice breakfast in mornings. Rooms are comfortable with nice facilities. Also sauna and pool whilst small, are nice places to relax and were not crowded, usually only ones in there. And good free internet.
A very genuine & special thank you to Camille, Odile et Veronique for making us feel right at home and who spared no effort to help and assist us and to Ellen and Charlène for the best service and always with a genuine smile!
Really enjoyed my stay. The hotel was in a really good position, able to ski in and out of the hotel. The staff were really pleasant and generally very attentive. The hotel is an amazing design and all the rooms are really spacious.
Wonderful stay in an ideal setting: ski-in ski-out and at the same time in the heart of this beautiful resort, it's fabulous. The decoration of the hotel is top, the spacious room, the attentive staff, the inventive cuisine is delicious. Relaxed and chic at the same time, it's a real pleasure.
I had a very pleasant stay at this hotel: my room had a great view of the mountain; its decoration was warm, both contemporary and anchored in the history of the resort; it was functional, with comfortable bedding and quality amenities. The welcome was professional and pleasant. To discover!
We had a wonderful Christmas week at this new hotel. As they had just opened, there were some growing pains, but the staff was so welcoming and friendly, and very patient with our children. They spoke English very well and were so helpful with anything we needed. Our kids loved the bunk beds in the room and the pool as well as the fun playroom. We enjoyed the food too and the kids appreciated all the hot chocolate and the special dishes that were cooked for them on request. Great location in Avoriaz to ski and dine.

Avoriaz is part of one of Europe's largest ski areas, the Portes du Soleil, with 650 kilometres of pistes challenging skiers of all levels. The ski area goes over the border to Switzerland, so it is possible to easily ski in two countries in one day. Avoriaz town is a beautiful place to stay where the houses are clad in wood and cars are not allowed in the streets. If you are looking for a large ski area, with ski-in / ski-out from your accommodation, and child-friendly slopes in the centre of town then Avoriaz is definitely an option for you. In the middle of Avoriaz, there is a children's area for those new to skiing. Here is also the children's ski school, which makes it easy to drop off and pick up children for their lessons. Avoriaz is also the host of the steepest piste in the Alps, Le Mur de Chavanette, also called "The Wall". Le Mur falls under the category of "orange" piste, going beyond the traditional scale from green to black. That piste leads to Switzerland, but thankfully there are alternative routes around Le Mur. In Avoriaz, you'll also find 40 km of cross-country ski runs and throughout Les Portes du Soleil there are a total of 200 km of cross-country ski runs.
